HRLTT – Embedding an Effective Performance Management Strategy and Culture
September 12 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm| Free
Hosted by Charlotte Kao, Head of Talent at Ratesetter.
The main objective of performance management is to maintain and improve employee performance in line with a business’s key objectives. However, the value of the traditional performance management process is regularly called into question and is often tarred with the brush of being unfit for purpose.
One of the main reasons for this is down to the one-size-fits-all approach that’s often adopted, where businesses fail to take organisational differences into account. As such, performance management can feel like an annual tick-box exercise that actually defeats the purpose of what it’s being used to achieve.
For performance management to be effective, a business needs to clearly articulate their own organisational objectives and also define what’s expected of their employees. How can you have individual performance objectives if your business goals aren’t clear?
Join us at this HR Leadership Think Tank, hosted by RateSetter, to explore how you embed an effective performance management strategy and how you develop a culture that supports it.
Key areas for discussion:
- Shaping a performance management culture that’s embedded into everyday conversations, not just formal appraisals
- Defining a suitable approach that aligns with your culture e.g. strength-based management
- Linking performance management to the attraction and assessment process. Being realistic about employee expectations from the outset
- Managing high performers vs. underperformers
