HRLTT – Upskilling HR to Think and Act More Strategically
February 27 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm| Free
Hosted by Thomas Forstner, Talent Partner, at Paddle
Many HR functions are tarred with the brush of being reactive and not overly strategic. This perception is largely reflective of the days of traditional personnel departments that predominantly responded to employee grievances and workforce issues. HR was, and in many cases still is, considered to be a ‘support function’, as opposed to a function that strategically leads, shapes and guides a business. This can be incredibly frustrating and limiting for HR professionals, as it restricts their scope of influence and generally results in a pure ‘fire-fighting’ role.
For HR to truly be strategic, the business needs to buy-in to the value of the function and ensure HR has a presence in future-thinking and planning conversations. Join us at this Think Tank to understand how HR professionals can move away from a reactive personnel model and begin to act as true strategic partners to their business.
Key areas for discussion will include:
- Learning your business to help build the credibility that will enable you to advise and guide your leaders
- Building a business case to get an initiative over the line before a problem arises – prevention is better than cure!
- Remaining relevant and knowledgeable as an HR professional throughout business growth and change
- Using tools and data effectively to strategically influence
