How much time do you spend getting caught up in thoughts about the past or worrying about the future? How much of your day do you spend going through the motions in autopilot?
Research from Harvard University suggests that most people spend about 50% of their day in a ‘mindless state’.
In today’s uncertain world, people are under more pressure than ever before. Pressure to secure new jobs. Pressure to provide for and protect our families. Pressure to demonstrate our value. Pressure to survive.
The impact of this is not insignificant. And the effects of these everyday pressures include: increased errors, inefficiency, poor performance and most importantly decreased levels of wellbeing.
That’s a lot to contend with. Particularly when you’re trying to secure a new job.
It’s important to be able to steady our hearts and minds amidst this uncertainty and complexity. It’s important take care of ourselves and of each other.
Adopting a simple mindfulness practice is proven to reduce stress, improve wellbeing and enhance performance.
