RTT – Articulating the Value of Talent Acquisition to Business Leaders
May 8, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm| Free
Hosted by Stephen Reilly, Group Talent Acquisition Consultant at Mott MacDonald
Talent Acquisition (TA) isn’t always valued in the way it should be, and unfortunately typically suffers from underinvestment. From the number of ‘heads’ in the function, through to the technology provided to deliver against objectives most effectively. As such, Resourcing functions can often find themselves viewed as the ‘poor relation’ compared to other business areas, such as Marketing, who are more effective and equipped to evidence their ROI.
The truth of the matter is that the success or failure of TA has a huge impact on the overall success or failure of the business. Investing in the TA function will have a direct correlation with business effectiveness, when you start considering improvements in quality of hire, the cost of a miss-hire and attrition levels etc.
This underinvestment in the function (and systems in particular) can often translate into the function not being able to collect meaningful recruitment data to actually measure the impact that the function is having from a present day perspective, let alone being able to monitor it over a longer period of time to get an accurate assessment of the function’s impact. However, even when meaningful data has been gathered, one of the biggest traps TA professionals tend to fall into is translating the insights into a language and format that the business actually care about. The business needs to be able to relate to what you’re reporting on and understand how it feeds into overarching company success.
At this Resourcing Think Tank, hosted by Mott MacDonald, we will be exploring how you evidence the success of the TA function whilst considering the points below:
Identifying potential sources of TA data and developing a plan to manage data integrity
Mapping your stakeholders to understand how, what and when you should be communicating TA data and insights
Using relevant headline insights to gain respect and buy-in from the business to strengthen the business case for investment
Using data to influence decisions and invoke change.
