A specialist professional services business to the built environment with an impressive global client base and headquartered in Central London is looking to appoint a Head of People. This owner managed business prides itself on their holistic approach to innovative solutions resulting in the execution of complex projects, ensuring exceptional levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
The Head of People is a newly created role because the company knows how important it is to properly resource the people function. The focus is on continuing to develop the high performance ethos and working with the leadership team to devise and deliver a robust people strategy.

An accomplished HR generalist, you thrive in a position where you are responsible for the entire function and have the flexibility to jump from the strategic to the detail and back again at the drop of a hat. You’ll know what ‘good looks like’ and keep at the forefront of HR best practice. Experience in people development, coaching and a focus on continuous improvement is a prerequisite. High emotional intelligence, a great vision and an indubitable desire to really make a difference, you will be afforded the autonomy to ensure the business is set up for even more success in the future.
People / HR – you will act as the all-encompassing HR and recruitment expert, championing best practice and guidance on all people related matters, both in the UK and across international territories. You’ll be hands on and ready to roll your selves up and get stuck in to every aspect of HR, transactional and strategic. You’ll take ownership for people development and performance management and support the senior leadership team with any projects to make the business even better.
Culture – you will ensure that people are at the heart of every business decision. What the business has created is special and they want to protect and nurture their amazing culture as the business grows. You will measure employee engagement through feedback, pulse surveys and sensing the vibe and you will do everything you can to engender a positive and growth mindset for everyone.
Recruitment – you’ll be hands on and responsible for bringing great people into the business through a rigorous hiring process. You will achieve the best candidate experience possible, whether they are successful or not, and drive a positive onboarding process.
Learning & Development – there is a business desire to invest in employees and create a culture of continuous learning and personal development. You will ensure all team members have the tools they need for personal and professional progression and have a vision and a pathway for future success in the business.
