Head of People – London

A well established and award winning technology firm with an impressive and internationally renowned client base is looking to appoint a Head of People to champion the people agenda and drive their ambitious growth plans from a people perspective. You will lead on cultural aspects of both the existing business and acquired entities, establishing best practices for the lifecycle of all employees from their first to last engagement with the business. This is a newly created role and critical to the ongoing success of the business where excellent customer service and long term relationships are paramount.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for:

Leadership – including setting the vision and strategy for people management and development aligning management development with strategic and tactical plans.

Recruitment – create an efficient and effective internal recruitment function which promotes the business as an “employer of choice”.

Learning and Development – assessing, agreeing and delivering (internally and externally) all technical and people based skills training and, where appropriate, supporting cultural change with training.

Employee engagement and retention – delivery of programmes and interventions making the culture relevant to all employees and ensuring all internal communications are timely and consistent.

Legal, compliance and records – ensuring terms, conditions, people policies and procedures across the organisation reflect remain up to date with the relevant legislation and best practice.

Performance Management – establish a performance management environment to identify the level of performance and capability of every colleague, ensuring appropriate measures are taken for under-performance and for the development of future potential.

Acquisitions and divestment – deliver the people based elements of acquisitions from assisting on the due diligence, managing the employee communication programmes, integration of the HR teams and working with management to assess the optimal organisational structure.

Change Management – lead all people based change management interventions, assisting managers as well as leading these programmes to the agreed outcomes.

Required Competencies (Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Attitude)

The Head of People will have a sense of urgency, a good sense of humour, is passionate about what they do and performs well in an ever changing environment.

It is expected that the role holder will have the following at a level necessary to perform their duties effectively:

  • Experience of leading people integrations through acquisitions

  • Extensive experience of a “full service” HR team delivering a broad people based agenda

  • Significant experience of performance management in a sales and technical environment

  • High energy levels and an infectious “can do” attitude

  • Experience of rapid organic and acquisitive growth
