Interim HR Business Partner

Interim HR Business Partner – Cambridge – 12-month contract – Up to £250 a day

A leading pharmaceutical company are looking for an HR Business Partner to support a number of different HR Projects. The HRBP will support several functions and work under the general direction of the Associate Director. The demands on the HR department are varied and as such you will be involved in a variety of activities including hiring, talent management, the development of HR policies, the annual review process, employee relations cases and advising managers and leaders on various people issues.

This role will ideally suit a self-starting team player who understands how to successfully operate through a matrix model and can build strong internal networks.

Interim HR Business Partner – Cambridge – 12-month contract – Up to £250 a day

Key Objectives
* Operates as both an internal consultant & account manager and will be responsible for successful delivery of local HR initiatives, supporting the Associate HR Director
* Works closely with leaders and managers to provide proactive HR partnership
* Executes HR programmes to support business objectives
* Advises managers and employees on HR policy and process matters, including managing employee relation issues
* In partnership with Learning & Development, plan and deliver on-site training
* While not necessarily the subject matter expert in each HR speciality area, must be able to discuss the fundamental issues of the HR functional areas with management (learning & development, reward, resourcing, change etc.)
* Reviews operational HR processes to ensure they are fit for purpose, recommending & implementing changes as appropriate
* Builds relationships with key suppliers internally & externally e.g. centres of excellence, shared service centre, legal specialists etc

Characteristics
* Excellent consulting, stakeholder management & communication skills; strong relationship builder
* Must be able to exercise judgment and demonstrate the confidence to act independently where appropriate
* Ability to operate in an international matrix environment
* Passionate about customer service & service delivery
* Process orientation, attention to detail & project management skills
* Strong and efficient execution of core processes & transactional activity
* Able to prioritize work

Interim HR Business Partner – Cambridge – 12-month contract – Up to £250 a day

Experience
* Degree or diploma in an HR-related discipline
* CIPD qualification is desirable
* Requires relevant HR experience in a fast-paced, lean environment
* Needs in-depth knowledge and understanding of HR legislation/ employment law
* Ideal candidates will either have prior experience of leveraging shared service / CoE models, or be highly engaged in making this model deliver maximum impact
* Previous experience in high-growth, lean organisations or in pharma/biotech is desirable
